Grid Computing Copes with Alzheimer's Disease
neuGRID is a project financed by the EU's Seventh Framework Programme. The aim of the project is the establishment of a digital infrastructure and state-of-the-art software supplying the neuroscience community to overcome degenerative brain disorders including Alzheimer's disease. Now, for the first time, clinical research institutes will have access to a prototype of neuGRID which offers the opportunity to scientists to determine exactly the course of disease by the analysis of 3D (three-dimensional) magnetic resonance images.

New version of the IUCLID 5 Technical Completeness

The new version of the IUCLID 5 TTC plugin defines new rules for the registration of chemicals inside REACH. Amongst others an advanced check of the required documents is offered in terms of their completeness and validness. Therefore the process of registration will be considerably accelerated.

EPA Provides Access to Chemical Toxicity Database
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) facilitates to find chemical information online. EPA is releasing a new database, called ToxRefDB (Toxicity Reference Database), which gives scientists and the interested public access to hundreds of data sources, providing a new level of transparency in environmental sciences. ToxRefDB, contains the results of traditional in vivo animal toxicity studies conducted over the last thirty years, worth of nearly two billion dollars.
